Accounting, Tax & Employer Services
Establish a Singapore company's corporate income-tax, ECI, accounting and annual filing framework around its actual activities and tax residence.
Singapore's 17% headline corporate income-tax rate is easy to quote, but the practical tax position of a new company depends on far more than the percentage. Tax residence, exemptions, incentives, estimated chargeable income, annual returns and the quality of the accounting records all affect how the company enters the system.
For an international owner, the best time to build that framework is before the first year closes. A company whose books, intercompany transactions and management records are organised from the beginning is far easier to operate than one reconstructed when its first filing deadline arrives.
IRAS currently taxes companies at a flat 17% rate on chargeable income, subject to available exemptions, rebates and incentive regimes. For YA 2026, IRAS also reflects the Budget 2026 corporate income-tax rebate measures.
Those reliefs should be applied through the rules that actually govern the company rather than treated as a permanent effective tax rate.
IRAS states that a company is Singapore tax resident when control and management is exercised in Singapore. Residence can affect treaty access and other tax outcomes and can change from year to year.
Board processes and strategic decision-making should therefore support the residence position claimed, particularly for overseas-owned groups.
Singapore companies generally need to consider Estimated Chargeable Income and the annual corporate income-tax return under the applicable IRAS rules and exemptions. Good bookkeeping allows those filings to follow the accounts rather than become a separate reconstruction exercise.
Related-party transactions, foreign income and incentives can add specialist workstreams that should be identified before filing season.
Coutts Consultants establishes the company's activities, tax residence, financial year and accounting process, then coordinates the tax-registration and filing framework with qualified Singapore tax professionals.
The objective is repeatable compliance and useful management information, not simply a tax return prepared once a year. The implementation should also be tested against the company's expected growth so that the structure remains workable when staffing, transactions or investor requirements increase.
Coutts Consultants coordinates Singapore corporate-tax and accounting readiness around the company's activities and residence, with technical filings handled by qualified Singapore professionals.
Confirmed after entity, financial year, residence and accounting readiness are reviewed
